Sure, a little about Dr. Fidrat Sadique. He liked to sing, so he didnt want to be noticed so he changed his tone of voice so you wouldnt be able to recognize him via a radio. Also, he named himself nashenas, meaning "not known to me/them".
He lives in London now.
Has a nephew his name is Shanna. He is good, he will be just as good as him, later on.
Nashenas actually just started learning TAAL, and actual rhythums/melodies from a North Indian Pandit.
I believe he has his Doctorate in some field of Discipline but not Music or Medical.
He charges too much i think to sing, but its worth it. He is very humble, smart, and most of all A great person, with great talents. I hope that was a better insight into Nashenas. thanks, Matt.

Dr. Sadiq Fitrat Nashenas was born into a religious and very educated family therefore singing wasn't considered very prestigious by his father so he named himself Nashenas.Yes infact he has his PHD in Pashto Literature and knows plenty about literature, if you listen to most of his songs they are meaningful and difficult to comprehend. Moving on he doesn't attend many majlisis'so how can hee charge a lot??
Lastly yes he is a very wonderful person and extremely open minded and very bright. Does anyone have any pictures of him at last concerts in 2004 by any chance???

I am a urdu speaking and recently listened Nashenas some
persion ghazals, which were much appealing specially his one ghazal " Dar gharibi door ust" but unable to understand
the words and meanings, can any body translate this ghazal in urdu for me, I will be very thankfull. No dought Nashenas has a wonderful voice and way of singing.

You are crème de la crème of stupidity and (hamaqat), how can you say something like this about someone who is the only sofiyana Ghazal singer of our time. He is considered to be a national icon for Afghan music.
35 years is enough time for anyone to become smart and Hoshyar( common Man ,you could say something better than this)

I know him in person; he is amazingly humble, knowledgeable, smart, soft spoken person.

Nashenas actually sings better than Ahmad Zahir. I remember there was a song in which Ahmad Zahir could not do the "antara", and Nashenas did it for him. The name of the song is "Roz o shabam alam, rezam sereshke gham"

this is typical of some (writing certain comments) not all of afghans ofcourse. Dr. Nashenas, a man of this magnitude and intelligence, passion and love, through music (long live sufism, and death to ignorance of any nature) and there is no need to compare him to anyone, everyone stand on their own as time and history shall tell. I am tired of those trashy mental cases, those morons that always label people as either commy or khalqi or parchami, or mujahid, this or that etc.. no matter what if you dont have blood on your hands then your what humanity is all about and if you bring joy to others than thats what prophets taught and humanity is all about. %100 agree with you, when he was in Afghanistan he never sang for the sake of money, so he had the best character a mong all singers that time and everybody looked up to him even those who were againest him, I am still in Afghanistan and some free time i am enjoying of listening his songs and remebering the old good days

To me what is important that what Nashenas has given to his listeners. I can't do this. He is superb, the music, the thoughts I mean everything is superb. Tell me music is Music is Muslim or Kafir.
